Natural colorants can provide soft to deep color tones to a bar of soap. While synthetic colorants provide more vibrant colors, they do not provide the beneficial properties that natural colorants have.
Here are some of the natural colorants that are used in Lavare Soaps:
Alkanet root, paprika, and spirulina are known to be rich in antioxidants that help prevent skin damage caused by free radicals.
Indigo helps alleviate skin irritation, as it has restorative and calming properties.
Activated charcoal and black walnut hull are known for their exfoliating properties. Activated charcoal provides gentle exfoliation without breaking the natural oil in the skin, while black walnut hull helps remove dead skin cells and dirt.
Finally, pink clay can provide a deep cleanse that purifies the skin.
Here at Lavare Soap, we use a variety of natural colorants such as the ones mentioned and many more.
Besides the aesthetic attributes that natural colorants provide, these ingredients clearly have beneficial properties.
